Description
-----------------
Unable to login to a Pro/INTRALINK Client Release 3.3 M020, M021 and M022 on a Windows Platform. The following error is returned:
"Failed To Take Or Refresh License"
This issue occurs as of March 22nd, 10:58 PM GMT (ie: 5:58PM EST or 7:58 AM in Japan). This issue does not occur on clients running from a UNIX machine nor on Pro/INTRALINK 3.4 or earlier builds of 3.3.
Alternate Technique
-----------------
Currently, there are three techniques that can be used to workaround this issue.
Option 1:
Temporarily roll back the date on the client machine to enable a successful login to Pro/INTRALINK. The client should roll the date back to the local time after login. This will need to be executed for each time a user connects to Pro/INTRALINK. To execute this workaround, perform the following steps:
1. Set the date on the client machine to a date earlier than GMT '10:30 03/22/2005' on the client machine.
2. Login to Pro/INTRALINK from the client machine.
3. Change the machine time back to the current time.
Note: Users should confirm that changing the date on the client machine for a temporary basis will not have an impact on other software that is running on their machine.
Option 2:
Run Pro/ENGINEER in a local workspace only. This will allow customers to work on data that they already have in their local Workspace but it will not allow them to connect to the server to checkout additional data, check in new data nor use local links. For details on how to start Pro/INTRALINK connected to a local Workspace only, refer to TPI http://www.ptc.com/cs/tpi/108288.htm.
Option 3:
Upgrade to Pro/INTRALINK 3.4.
