Dear Users, first of all I apologize if this question was already answered, I'm not so confortable with german and the company where I bought SolidEdge has not answered yet...

Using SE18 SP11 (the same occurs with SEV19)

When I export a draft to dwg, the resultant dwg is showed correct if loaded in AutoCAD,
but there are some problems when it is loaded in other systems, for example CoCreate-Annotation, GBG DraftMaker, Alibre:

1) The diametral dimensions don't show the symbol "fi" but just a circle. Wwhen
I'm in solid Edge, if I use a normal linear dimension and put the "fi" symbol as a pre-text,
things go well in Annotation

2) The shape tollerances don't show the coorect symbol (parrallel, concentric etc
etc) but just a character "i", "n", etc etc.

I think the bug is in solid Edge because I have it in several cad systems, the only
one that works well is autocad.

Is it allowed to put an example-zip file in the forum?

Alessandro,

when all symbols do correctly show up in ACAD then SolidEdge is not
to blame. SE has mapped the fonts correctly to the appropriate ACAD
fonts on export. When other programs display wrong characters after
import you have to check the other programs' options to get a correct
mapping of ACAD fonts to their fonts.

One note: ACAD fonts have an ending of .shx and can *only* be used with
ACAD. You can attach a .zip file to a posting max. size 1MB

It doesn't work.....

Even if you order to Solid Edge to use arial font for all text, or to convert all fonts to arial in seacad.ini, it still use simeca1.ttf for special characters, such as diameters symbols, shape tolerances, etc etc.
I tried to put the font simeca1.ttf in the folder of CoCoreate-Annotation, and after this all special charcacters are showed as a little square.

There is this thing that I can't understand: the problem occurs only when this characters are inside a block (a non standard dimension is exported as a block), all is ok if the character is not embedded in a block...

Thanks for the moment, if you have any other hint please tell me.

Finally I understood what happens:

SE uses his special fonts semeca1.ttf, seiso.ttf etc for special characters (diametral symbol, shape tolerances symbols). If these fonts are not present in the pc that receives dwg files originating from SolidEdge, even AutoCAd is not able to interpretate these symbols correctly, and complains on the absence of this fonts on the system.
Some times, even if you install the fonts in the receiving pc but the cad-program does not support true-type fonts, the problem still exists.
