Anybody knows an actual test which compares the performance of different CAD programs like I-deas, NX 2, Solid Edge V15 and Catia V5?

Today we are using I-deas NX and testing Unigraphics NX 2.

When we change to another system the iterative design improvement process on _(complex) 3D objects_ shall be more efficient (quick, easy). The rest of I-deas is very fine.

ItŽs almost impossible to compare generally different CAD-systems.
They all have their advantages. It depends on your needs which one is the best for you. Being the best system for someone else, does not mean itŽs the best system for you, too.
Whith Catia V5 you can do a lot of things. Maybe even too much.
I think there is a demo version of V5 available. Maybe you could have a look at it.
ItŽs fully parametric system makes Catia V5 in many cases a good choice for iterative design improvement processes.
But to be able to help you better, you may ask more detailed questions.

Of course. If the effects of test criteria and editors on test results are known it is not too dangerous to read test reports.

It is difficult to explain these type of things literally.
I am just not satisfied with the stability and performance of the algorithms of I-deas NX and NX 2 when changing draft angles, rounds, fillets, lofts, ...

Problems arise when the optical design of a part is ready and it is then necessary to change geometry add draft angles, ... for diecasting or plasic injection purposes. In most cases it is necessary to rebuild many of the rounds, fillets, ...
