When I want to open a file *.mf1 appears to me the following message: it must define the route to the installation of i-deas to concern files i-deas. If you have an IDEAS installation available (it is not necessary to have IDEAS installed locally at your seat, you can use a remote installation), and an IDEAS license can obtained in your network you can open IDEAS files directly into ProE.
(I do not know which release-combination of IDEAS/ProE is the minimum requirement for doing this).
