unter den folgenden Calls sind bereits mehrere Enhancement Requests bezüglich der Resource Bar eröffnet. Diese sind übrigens vom 01. Okt. 2003 (das nur am Rande)

Suggestions for improvement regarding „Resource Bar”
1. Import of parts via Resource Bar by means of Drag & Drop.
2. File links should be recognised and handled.
3. Improve File-Browser-functions in the Resource Bar.
4. Add parts via resource bar by means of Drag & Drop with following mating condition.
To 1:
Explanation:
UNIGRAPHICS allows to open parts, add parts to components / assemblies and to import parts. From the Resource Bar parts can only be opened or added to a component, but not be imported. Similar to the Standard WINDOWS Explorer functions (Copy Drag & Drop + [STRG ]and move Drag & Drop + [SHIFT])the “import” function could also be realised in the Resource Bar.
Advantage:
We use UNIGRAPHICS also to prepare hall layouts. Here all project symbols (2d lines and curves in XC YC planes) exist as independent UNIGRAPHICS files. These files are imported in the layout. The Resource Bar shows all files as a preview and allows thereby finding (visually) the correct part quickly, without data base (directly UNIGRAPHICS native).
To 2:
Explanation:
File links during the opening, import and add-in operation are recognized but not in the Resource Bar. Here file links are not even shown.
Advantage:
Due to the fact that some customers do not use data bases, all files are stored – specific for each machine type – in the file system, the function would allow preparing a new dictionary with file links which only contain the most important standard parts. It would not be necessary to alter the complete file system.
To 3:
Explanation:
The functions of the Resource Bar are to be adapted to those of the Standard WINDOWS Explorer, i.e. navigating in the directories.
Advantage:
This functions allows to constitute a small “pseudo” data base.
With the navigating in the file system and the preview of the individual objects you will find the correct part very soon directly in UNIGRAPHICS. It is not necessary to produce a menu scripts or to write application programmes.
To 4:
Explanation:
When parts are added to an assembly by means of Drag & Drop the menu for the positioning of the component is automatically opened. There is no chance to mate the component. Only when mating conditions are predefined for a component the mating condition dialog is opened.
Advantage:
All previously mentioned functions allow finding the correct part very quickly in UNIGRAPHICS without any additional application programming or external programmes.
For example:
Drag & Drop + [i] Import file
Drag & Drop + [m] Add file with following mating conditions
Drop & Drop + [p] Add file with following positioning
