Hi, welcome to CAD-de! It is not necessary to download and install the DACH-Country-Kit, because it is already included on the DVD of Civil3D 2011. So you could do a restart of the installation of Civil3D, in the installation process you should change to 'User-defined' installation. Within the Installation-Wizard you get the options (to set the Check-Boxes) for Metric and DACH (or German). This makes all template-files (and so all settings like styles, ...) available for you. Alfred, thanks for reply. I am worried about restarting Civil3d, is it gonna mess up with my current styles that I use? I had them all worked out, but few months ago we had system crash and HDD failure, I lost much stuff for Civil including my reworked DACH styles. German styles are almost identical to our country standards ( we probably copied them from you anyways ), and doing styles from zero is much work for me now, so I try to rework DACH ones. I have installed DACH, and I can see it in extensions toolspace, but I cannot find styles in location that's in Readme file. [Diese Nachricht wurde von Kenan3D am 24. Hi, >> is it gonna mess up with my current styles that I use? As long as you only have changed the DWT-Files you should not worry about a restart of the installation (where you get the request for 'add/remove'), you can backup them before you do the installation. For modification of any files (not only DWT/DWG, also files like DVB or XML or ....) you should make sure to give them another name and not modify the existing files within the Civil3D-installed files. If you do not give them another name (or at least put them into another directory) you will never be sure what will happen during a service-pack-installation (and you will need that, I'm sure ). - alfred - ------------------ www.hollaus.at [Diese Nachricht wurde von a.n. am 24. Ok, I found everything on the DVD,all he countries are there, just extracted them from .cab files and I have the templates and the styles, no need for Civil restarting. Thank you very much Alfred! Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |

Hi, glad to hear that all is working for you now. Just to make sure: extracting the DWT-Files from the CAB-Files will not be all of the necessary stuff. During the installation there are also files for piping-rules, alignments (like curve-widening), intersections and so on. That is all defined outside the DWT-Files! But, and that could make troubles, some settings within these templates will point to these external files! However, as long as you do not work with road-design or pipe-networks, you will not fall into these traps. - alfred - ------------------ www.hollaus.at |

I was looking just for drawing styles as I work on preliminary design for railway line which is done on huge scale 1:25000 maps, so I only need alignment and profile to be drawn corectly, no need for design rules. I normally work in MXRoad for detail highway design, but for preliminary and less detailed stuff turn to Civil 3D, and for this railway job it's perfect.
