Hello,
I'd like to ask a somehow basic question.
My goal is to place the "Body2" on place (Point.1 and Plane.1) in Part Design.
The "Body2" source is in another file and is inserted by "Copy" -> "Paste Special" & "As Result with link"
There is a Right-Click menu function "Add position" which shall be used.
Please could you describe how to use this function for positioning in this case?
I know how to manipulate Parts in the Assembly Design, but I am not sure how this works in the Part Design...
PS: can read German text well, but I cannot write questions well as I am foreigner...

It sounds to me as if an AxisToAxis-Transfomation would be the right feature to use.
It positions the geometry of a body relative to a target axis system in the same orientation as the reference axis system.

I have never used this. Apparently it does just one thing: Create an axis system in the part's center of gravity

Hmm. I would say: Not at all. It just isn't the correct feature.

As described by Lionel, just do an axs2axs; I assume you will have to do it from absolute to target.

ADD_POSITION.CATPart

This 'Add Position' command either appears to be comparatively stupid or I have missed the trick.

The axs created by 'Add Position' is (1) isolated and (2) it is not oriented. In my example it could be oriented along the edges of the part, but it isn't. It's just an isolated axs in the center of gravity with standard X-Y-Z orientation.
I changed dimensions, it wasn't updated, so it no longer sits in the center of gravity (which comes at no surprise, since this axs is isolated)
