hi

i am raj,i was assigned task of installing smarteam software,i even dont have basic knowledge about smarteam
,anyhow i studied some help online and started to install,i have installed smarteam foundation and also smarteam editor and installed ibm db2 on my system.

operating system : windows server  2003 enterprise edition

problem is : affter installing all those,i just started using it,i have clicked on database connection manager to configure smarteam with ibm db2,i have clicked on add conenction.
 
  it is asking for datasource name and username and password.
 
  i have found a system dsn that is created by default for the ibm db2 i.e, DWCTRLDB,i entered that name
   
    and clicked on test connection,it gave message that it is succesfull
   
then i clicked next :it is asking for username and password once again,but i am not able to know what is the  username and password that i should supply here.any how i supplied username as administrator and password of administrator of the system,but i get the error message like

could not connect to specified database.Please check your configuration( [DB2/NT] sql0104N "USERNAME.TDM_DB_VERSION" is not a defined name. SQLSTATE=42704)

tried to search in internet,but could not find one.   

Also let me know,whether we should create a new database for the smarteam,or can we use the DWCTRLDB database for the
smarteam applications
     
      i am  very sorry if my question is unclear,please help me in this regard.if any information is needed please
let me know.
     
i am desperate for the answer,as i am trying it for past 15 days..

hy raj,

the error message you describe appears, if the database you try to connect is not a smarteam database. just create new smarteam database with the data model designer and try it again.

Hi raj,

the first Connection Test and the answer 'successful connection' describe that you can connect to the server. It does not clearify that you have access to the DB's.
The Errormessage you describe is possible, like mkh explain, and also with a correct SMARTEAM database but missing Accessrights for the tables.

mkh and christianS ,first let me thank you for replying to my question.i have tried many times,but now i just stopped the  installation of smarteam for few days as now i am installing and configuring proe..so after completion of this task , i will try with ur solution and let u know if i got any errors.

Hi,
Zweieinhalb Jahre später, gleiches Problem

Wenn ich mit rechts auf die Datenbank gehe und dann auf Berechtigungen sind dort alle Rechte gesetzt.

Gibt es für die "Tables" noch irgendwo anders Rechte die ich zuweisen muss? (ich weiss nichtmal was tables sind, hab erst seit gestern denn spass mich mit DB2 und Smarteam auseinanderzusetzen...)

Ich wär echt dankbar über jede Hilfe!
