Hello ANSYS Gurus, I am doing transient analysis (reduced and full)in ANSYS on my structure. I want to see Elastic strain data for an element w.r.t time. So my ultimate Aim is to read these data as an external file, with a first column time and second column strain of an element at each time substep. But no success till now, 'Invalid or no data stored at time points' many problems in my way. So finally i came here, to get your help. For my Full transient analysis POST26 file looks like shown below. I get first three columns perfect only 4th column for element strain, I have problem. ******************************************** /POST26 NSOL,5,1,ACC,Y STORE,MERGE NSOL,6,3,ACC,Y STORE,MERGE ESOL,7,3,5,EPEL,Z ! Here i have problem *GET,size,VARI,,NSETS *dim,UX55,array,size,4 VGET,UX55(1,1),1 VGET,UX55(1,2),5 VGET,UX55(1,3),6 VGET,UX55(1,4),7 *CFOPEN,disp, dat *VWRITE,UX55(1,1),UX55(1,2),UX55(1,3), UX55(1,4) ! Write array in given forma to file "disp.dat" %14.5G %14.5G %14.5G %14.5G *CFCLOSE FINISH ******************************************** Please any suggestion, How can I get strain data for every time substep. If I do directly from time history viewer than it shows 'Invalid'. Nodal data it can read but no strain. Please help, since 2 days i am struggling. Thanks in advanced! Regards! rammps

Hi Christoph, thanks for your first reply. I just tried with 'outres,all,all'... No change ! My small code is shown below. ******************************************* /SOLU ANTYPE,TRANS TRNOPT,FULL,,DAMP,,,1 OUTRES,all, all NLGEOM,ON nsel, all D,102,ALL D,1,UX ACEL,-9.81 F,1,FY,%Fp% ALPHAD,0.05 BETAD,0.0002 TIMINT,ON KBC,1 TIME, 1 DELTIM,0.01 OUTRES,all, all SOLVE FINISH ************************************************************************ Which means, in the result file all the results for all the substeps are available. But still it can not give me the table of strains. It shows in Post1 all values 0 for perticular substep and in Post26 time history viewer 'Invalid'. Is it possible that instead of 'ESOL', one should use some other command. No idea?? Still seeking some help. Regards! Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |

...I found the solution. It works with sequence number table. So one has to be carefull about which strains are calculated internally and which not. So for that, details of the element tables help. Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |
