Service Pack 3 Hotfix

This hotfix resolves intermittent issues with a few commands in AutoCAD Mechanical 2009 and Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2009 after applying Service Pack 3. Please refer to the problem description for the commands involved. Please follow the instructions below to install this hotfix.

Please note that most users who have applied Service Pack 3 should apply this hotfix (i.e. the ge_page.dll file replacement) even if you do not encounter the problems described in this readme. For users that encounter the problems, you may then run the additional steps to resolve the problems that you encountered.

This hotfix only applies to 32bit platforms. 64bit users need not apply this hotfix.
Description of Problem

1. AMLIBRARY, AMSCRIPT and AMEQUATEDIT fail to launch after the 1st attempt.

2. AMLANGCONV might not be working correctly in some situations.

3. AMCVT12 contains invalid characters in the dropdown list.

4. Standard parts library contains invalid characters in some of the language products.
Affected Products

AutoCAD Mechanical 2009 Service Pack 3 (32bit)

Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2009 Service Pack 3 (32bit)
Installation Instructions
To install the Hotfix

You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft® Windows® operating system to install this patch.

This installation replaces the file ge_page.dll. After you replace this file, you must restart the program for the hotfix to take effect.

NOTE: If you are facing issues with AMLIBRARY and AMEQUATEDIT commands, you need to download and run AMLIBRARY_hotfix.exe as well. You DO NOT need to apply AMLIBRARY_hotfix.exe if you have not run AMLIBRARY and AMEQUATEDIT commands after applying Service Pack 3.

Please note that after running this AMLIBRARY_hotfix.exe patch, customizations in AMLIBRARY and AMEQUATEDIT will be removed. All customized drawings need to be reloaded to the library.
To replace the file ge_page.dll (for all users)

  1. Close all software applications.
  2. Navigate to the sys folder in your Autodesk installed location; for example, C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ACADM 2009\Acadm\sys for AutoCAD Mechanical and C:\Program Files\Autodesk\MDTMechanical Desktop 2009\Acadm\sys for Autodesk Mechanical Desktop.
  3. In the sys folder, right-click the file ge_page.dll and rename it ge_page.bak.
  4. Download and copy the new ge_page.dll file to the sys folder.
  5. Restart AutoCAD Mechanical or Autodesk Mechanical Desktop.

NOTE: To remove this hotfix, delete the new ge_page.dll file you copied to the sys folder, and restore the file you renamed in Step 3, to its original name.
