Dear List Members,
Please forgive me for writing in English.
My question concerns the appropriate configuration of a Windows user's account for running the vault service. From the description in 'VaultInstall.txt' file it means that for running this service the special user's account should be created. According to this file I created such user (called 'st_vault_admin'), added him to SmVaultAdmins group and made the necessary changes connected with account policy ("Act as part of the operating system" and "Log on as a service"; I couldn't find the "Increase quotas", so I skipped it). But I can't start the vault service with such user and its configuration - it is possible only after adding him ('st_vault_admin') to the 'Administrators" group.
So,
1) Should I start the vault service on dedicated user's account (this 'st_vault_admin') or it is not necessary?
2) If the special user's account for this service should be created, is it necessary to be the member of 'Administrators' or only of 'StVaultAdmins'? If the latter, why can't I start vault service?
My configuration: Windows 2003 Server + SmarTeam V5R14 SP7 + MS SQL Server + Foundation + Workflow. Everything runs on one machine. There are no domains.
Regards,
j_d
